THE BOUNTY HUNTER AND THE BRIDE
By Vickie McDonough
Review by Laura V. Hilton

Katie Hoffman’s husband, Jarrod died, after only four months of marriage, leaving Katie penniless and pregnant. Close to losing the farm, she advertises to sell it, but instead finds a husband. When Katie’s wedding day arrives, a bounty hunter crashes the ceremony, and Katie ends up with a broken arm and no groom. Not to mention, her house goes up in flames, leaving her homeless.

Dusty McIntyre lost his wife when a heinous outlaw sets his house on fire. He’s been hunting him over a year and finds him about to wed a beautiful widow. When Katie loses her home, Dusty feels guilty and takes Katie to her relatives home, but then stays around to help take care of her as best as he can. Will he be able to get past his lose and fall in love with Katie?

THE BOUNTY HUNTER AND THE BRIDE is the sequel to Sooner or Later, Vickie McDonough’s first published book. It was good revisiting Katie as a grown up and not the precious little girl she was in the first book, and revisiting with some of the other characters and seeing how their life turned out. I’d like to see a book with Katie’s brother as a hero.

The characters are realistically developed and the faith message is expertly woven in. I think this is Vickie’s best book to date, and can’t wait to read more by this talented author. Fans of historical romances will not want to miss this story. Be sure to pick it up today. $4.95. 170 pages.
