Ever since the accident, Darell Brooke’s mind has been mush, making a mockery of the title “King of Suspense.” He can’t even remember the books he’s written, much less turn out what was supposed to be his crowning achievement—his 100th novel. But when his estranged granddaughter Kaitlan arrives panicked at his door, his brain has no choice but to get in gear. This isn’t a book, this is a real crisis, with a real killer out to get his granddaughter. Can he overcome his disabilities enough to help her out-think a murderer—and will that be enough to jumpstart his writing again? Dark Pursuit is a fast-paced, quickly consuming read that will have you turning the pages frantically. I couldn’t put it down, and when I was forced to, my dreams were haunted by concern for the characters. In typical Brandilyn Collins style, the story is wonderfully written, perfectly developed, and leads you straight into a twist that I never saw coming. The thread of faith is at once understated and crucial, providing an anchor that only adds to the realism of the characters. I enjoyed every word of the novel, amazed at how much action was packed into just a couple days’ time in the plot. If you’re a lover of suspense, you’re not going to want to miss this fantastic story! Taking you from the mind of a killer to the desperate heart of a girl trying to make her life for herself, and from there to the bitter soul of a man who refuses to admit he’s lost the empire he worked forty years to build, Dark Pursuit will pull you in and not let you go again until that last word is read.
