Fossil Hunter
by John B. Olson
Review by Karen Higson

Katie James is a Paleontologist from the University of New Mexico, and she is also a Christian, the daughter of a Baptist minister. When the scientific community gets wind of this fact, they all but excommunicate her. Katie has proven herself and her facts many times over, but the fact that her last artifact was destroyed before she could get it out has left many to assume that she was destroying it to hide the data that it would have uncovered, data they think may have proven evolution rather than creation—and they believe that as a Christian, she couldn't let that happen.

After she resigns her position, the chance of a lifetime presents itself, and she goes back to take her team to war torn Iraq to find what they think may be a whale fossil in the middle of the dessert. After they travel to Iraq they find out that her rival Nick Murad is to be in Iraq to find the same fossil.

The deeper they get into the desert, the more questions start coming up.  Can her guards be trusted? Is Nick her rival or her rescuer? And is she going to get out of this alive—and stay out of an Iraqi prison?

Well . . . if you think I am going to give up all the details of this suspenseful, fast-moving, action-packed thriller, think again. I would never take all the fun out of this great read!

I love this story! The characters were real and likeable, and the action never stops. The hint of romance is never a bad thing either. So pick up this book, but beware! You may not want to put it down. I didn't.
