I usually don't pick up a lot of non-fiction books, but this one looked really good to me. Boy, am I glad that it did! The very first paragraph grabs your attention and the book doesn’t give it back until after the last sentence. The author gives examples of God using ordinary people to do extraordinary things. God is ready to use you right where you are. It was amazing to read about the history of past movements, many of them I had not heard of before. Reid sums up prayer as "intimacy with God that leads to the fulfillment of His purposes." How true is that! When we truly stop focusing on what we want, God begins to create a movement inside of us. In chapter 11 Reid uses what I think is one of his best examples: Cassie Bernall. One of his sub-chapters is entitled “Until you are ready to die, you aren’t really living.” Wow! Just that title makes me stop and think about how I’m spending my time. At the very end of chapter 11 he concludes with “are you willing to die for Jesus? Honesty? Perhaps a more real question is this: are you willing to live for Jesus?” Join the movement. Become the 29th chapter of acts! While this book is mainly geared to high school students and young adults, I think that all ages can benefit from it. Publisher: Kregel
