Claire Caspian comes home to Romeo, Colorado when her life is in ruins. Her Abuelita’s house is a haven for her, her professorship at the nearby college a comfort. All she wants to do is provide her son Graeme with a childhood as safe and happy as she can. But when she gets a call from his school saying they took him to the hospital, all Claire’s fears come crashing down. What if she loses her baby, on top of everything else? The doctor, handsome Stephen Reyes, assures her Graeme’s asthma is manageable. But the instant attraction between them just makes a whole new set of fears flares up. Stephen Reyes hasn’t been interested in a woman in a long time, but he can’t deny the sudden spark between him and Claire Caspian. Figuring out what to do about it, however, proves quite a task. Every attempt he makes either gets rebuffed or ignored, but still the interest lingers. Will he be able to woo her into giving him a chance? Love Finds You in Romeo, Colorado is a story of two people learning how to trust again. At the start of the story, both have grown distant from God, the idea of putting themselves fully in His hands uncomfortable or even impossible. But through the pages of the novel, both Claire and Stephen have to look at their lives, their relationships, and themselves to rediscover their love for the Lord. And perhaps, through that, to learn to give romance another shot. Gwen Faulkenberry crafted a story straight from life, with compelling characters and deep-set feelings. This wasn’t a book I breezed through without thought—it’s one that made me feel, made me pause, and occasionally made me shake my head at the characters that were just as stubborn as a few people I know. This is another solid read from the new Love Finds You line from Summerside, and it’s worth picking up. You’re going to want to see if this weary-of-heart Literature professor is ready to meet her Romeo.
