Turn Up the Heat is a fun, interesting read that tackles issues ranging from the light to the super-serious. He’s drawn upon questions that have been sent to him to help readers see how broad the range of “normal” is in sex, and what they can do to turn up the heat in their marriage and take their sex life from ho-hum to yowza. I’ve never sat down with a book of this sort before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But I found Dr. Leman’s voice to be fun and often downright funny, his addressing of this delicate issues sensitive and insightful, and his advice to be Biblical and full of common sense. Most of the advice boils down to this: men, woo your wives. Pay attention to them outside the bedroom, help with the housework, and meet their emotional needs—then they’ll be happy to meet yours between the sheets. Women, learn how your men think and be willing to go outside your comfort zone to wow them. If both of you do this, he guarantees that you’ll have a sizzling sex life by week’s end. Turn Up the Heat is a great addition to Leman’s resume, following well on the heels of his previous bestselling books like Sex Begins in the Kitchen and Sheet Music. Whether you’re struggling with the intimate side of your marriage, about to get married, or just want a few ideas to heat things up, this is a great book you can read in a few sittings and will undoubtedly benefit from.
